Spotify’s New AI Feature Crafts Playlists from Text Descriptions
Spotify is introducing a new beta tool called AI Playlist, following last year’s experimentation with AI playlist generation in its DJ feature.
Initially available to Spotify Premium subscribers in the United Kingdom and Australia on mobile devices, this feature allows users to create curated tracklists based on text descriptions.
Users can access the AI Playlist generator by navigating to “Your Library” and tapping the “+” button at the top-right corner of the page.
From there, they can select the AI Playlist option and enter a prompt, such as “music to read to on a cold, rainy day,” to receive a playlist of 30 songs matching that vibe.
Additional prompts like “more sad music” can be used to refine the results until the user is satisfied; after which they can save the playlist by tapping “create” at the top right.
