X, formerly known as Twitter, is reportedly in the process of updating its privacy policy, with plans to expand data collection to include biometrics, job history, and work-related information.
While specific details regarding the collection of biometric data remain limited, it is presumed that this new data gathering will encompass individual physical characteristics such as facial features and fingerprints, although the exact methods of data capture have not been specified.
The proposed policy update is aimed at enhancing safety, security, and user identification.
One example of this is the option for premium members to provide government-issued IDs in exchange for an additional layer of verification, designed to deter impersonation.

However, the introduction of these updates has not been without resistance from some current users.
Notably, X has faced allegations in a recent class action lawsuit filed by Illinois residents, who claimed that the platform unlawfully collected, stored, and utilized biometric data.
In contrast, the interest in employment and educational data appears to be driven more by Elon Musk’s vision to transform X into an “everything app.”
A recent addition to this strategy is the introduction of the XHiring page, which allows “Verified Organizations” to showcase critical job openings on their profiles, thereby reaching a broader audience of potential candidates.
While X has not yet provided comprehensive details about the new policy, it is anticipated that aspects of it will start being implemented beginning on September 29th.
