Singer Wahu Kagwi has penned a glowing tribute to her late dad, who passed on 10 years ago.
On Wednesday, the ‘Sweet Love’ crooner remembered her dad and penned a heartfelt message to him. Recounting how he was always there for her until he passed away. He developed Alzheimer’s, a progressive disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions.

I was blessed to call you dad. Can’t believe it’s already been 10 years since you went to be with the Lord. I still miss you so much… especially on days like today 💔.
You were such an awesome dad. A father ahead of his time. A husband who made mum feel safe and special. A mentor to So many young people. A confidant, a friend.
You would’ve been so excited to meet Shiru, knowing how much you loved children 🥰. But I know you’re smiling down at her with that beautiful broad warm smile of yours🙂😊.

Her dad she said, was always present whenever she needed her, since she was a teenager.

As a teenager, he always wanted to meet the boys I liked. He even allowed me to go on dates. I never had to lie. I would be able to tell him when I had a crush, when I was heartbroken…and he always listened.”

She remembers all the support she accorded her mother as well, his wife, their mother was always his responsibility, he always said.
That is my wife…I take care of her, not her office.”
Her father was vital when she was making a decision to get married to her now husband, Nameless. Wahu gave him a call before she made the big decision. She also described her healing process after her dad passed away, it took a while to recover.

I was so heart broken when you passed…I literally cried every day for 3 months…but I still remember that morning when I felt you say to me “now Wahu….that’s ENOUGH!”
You needed me to move on from the depressive state I was in. Well, the scolding worked. I was finally able to get out of bed and get back to “life”. 10 years on, we remember you and miss you.”
