In a recent interview on the Tea with Tay video podcast, Nigerian singer Victony shared details about a car accident he was involved in during 2021.
The accident, which resulted in one fatality and three injuries, left Victony in a coma for three to four days.
The “Soweto” singer recounted how he fell asleep on his way back home from a club with a friend and woke up in the hospital days later with his father by his side.
Victony later learned that another car had hit their vehicle from behind, resulting in the fatality of the person seated next to him in the backseat and the singer breaking his legs.
I heard that the impact was from the back like another car hit us. The driver and the other guy at the front they were totally fine.
We were two at the back, two at the front. So, the one beside me at the back he died while I broke my legs,”

Victony also expressed that the accident has been a blessing in disguise and has led to immense growth in his perspective on life.
