UEFA has reopened bids for the 2027 Champions League final after revoking Milan’s hosting rights due to concerns regarding the planned redevelopment of the San Siro.
AC Milan and Inter Milan are exploring the possibility of constructing a new stadium in the vicinity.
The announcement for the new host venue is expected in May or June 2025.
Furthermore, UEFA’s Executive Committee has decided to limit solidarity payments for the “big five” European leagues to €10 million (£8.3 million) per season until 2026-27,
raising the total funds available to €308 million (£256.3 million) for clubs that do not participate in European competitions.
UEFA has also approved a women’s football strategy for 2024-2030, with further details yet to be revealed.
