Nigerian music sensation and Grammy award-winner, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has unveiled the intriguing backstory behind the title of his upcoming seventh studio album, “I Told Them…”
In a recent interview with American media outlet Complex, the artist shared how a stroll through his own past tweets served as the inspiration for the album’s name. People who did not believe in him also played a part.

Burna Boy referred to as the African Giant, disclosed that the phrase “Them” in the album title is symbolic of all those who doubted his potential and achievements at various points in his career.
Reflecting on his album’s title, he explained that his journey down memory lane was spurred by curiosity about his first-ever tweet on Twitter.
As he delved into his old tweets, Burna Boy found himself immersed in a reflective journey, revisiting his past thoughts and predictions.
He expressed amazement at realizing that the statements he had made in the past were now becoming reality.

This revelation became the catalyst for the album’s title, “I Told Them…,” signifying his earlier declarations coming to fruition.
The album itself, comprising 15 tracks, is already available to listeners.
Notably, it features an impressive lineup of collaborations with various stars.
He told Complex,
“THEM” in my album title, is anyone that ever didn’t believe in me at any point in time

I wanted to see what the first tweet I ever tweeted was, for some strange reason.
And then it just sent me down this rabbit hole, where I’m just looking at everything I ever said
I’m like, wow! It’s crazy. I really did say all these shits that is happening now. And that kind of made me to name my album, ‘I Told Them’.”
