Highly anticipated Kenyan premiere of ‘The Manic Monologues’ is set for debut in October 5th at the Signature Auditorium in Nairobi.
The 4 day event aims at shedding light on mental health silence & stigma in Kenya.
‘The Manic Monologues‘ will showcase groundbreaking performances from Kenya’s A-List actors as well as true life stories from those affected by Mental illnesses. Stories about struggle and pain but also triumph and joy will be shared. These diverse, moving narratives will greatly challenge societal assumptions about what it means to live with mental health conditions.

In Kenya, the WHO data estimates that 408 people die by suicide yearly. However, the figures could be high due to underreporting since it has largely been stigmatized. Some 703,000 people die by suicide every year globally and the Wealth Health Organisation (WHO) affirms that suicide was the fourth leading cause of death among 15-29-year-olds in 2019.
