Teyana Taylor Denies Infidelity as Reason for Split with Iman Shumpert

On Sunday, multi-talented artist Teyana Taylor confirmed the quiet separation from her partner of a decade, former NBA star Iman Shumpert, earlier this year.

In an Instagram post, she said that despite the split, they remain the best of friends, effective business partners, and a formidable team in co-parenting their two beautiful children.

Shumpert and Taylor’s romantic journey began in 2013, during Shumpert’s recovery from a knee injury early in his NBA career.

They celebrated the arrival of their first daughter, Junie, two years later. In a surprising revelation in 2016, they disclosed that they had secretly tied the knot at home, in the same bathroom where Taylor had given birth to Junie. Their second daughter, Rue Rose, joined the family in 2020.

Rumors regarding Shumpert’s fidelity began circulating in 2022, prompted by a TikTok video that suggested Taylor had experienced distress after discovering her husband’s infidelity.

Taylor addressed the situation, urging that there were more pressing matters to focus on.

Speculation heightened recently when a celebrity-news Instagram account proposed a theory that Shumpert had been unfaithful with an artist signed to his music label.

While the artist denied any such involvement, the rumors gained traction, prompting Taylor to address the situation directly on Sunday. She made it clear that the separation had nothing to do with infidelity.
