The TIME Magazine’s 100 Next list applauds the achievements of 100 young individuals worldwide who are leaving a mark and influencing the future across various fields including health, climate, business, sports, arts, and more.

In the 2023 edition of TIME Magazine’s 100 Next list, Tems shares the spotlight with American music producer Metro Booming, Hailey Bieber, rap sensation Ice Spice, plus many others.

Among the (many) notable personalities featured are American singer, songwriter Kali Uchis, and 24 year old Mexican singer Peso Pluma.

Renowned Grammy-award winner, Mary J. Blige, contributing to TIME, had this to say about Tems,

She stands alone in her class because her sound is unparalleled. Her voice is so distinct and authentic, much like the first time I heard Nina Simone.

Tems has experienced extraordinary success since making her mark on the international stage, notably for her exceptional contribution to Wizkid’s chart-topping hit ‘Essence’.

She achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Nigerian female artist to clinch a Grammy award, securing the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance for her role in Future’s ‘Wait For U’.


Furthermore, she made history as the first Nigerian artist to debut at the pinnacle of the Billboard Hot 100.

Others featured on the list include Jalen Hurts, Rachel Zegler, Hailey Bieber, Peso Pluma, Bella Ramsey, Ice Spice, R.F. Kuang, Salma Paralluelo, Alexandra Cooper, Everette Taylor, Xiye Bastida, Grace Wales Bonner, Rose Zhang, Pinky Cole, Sophia Smith, Laura Modi, Sarah Hardy, and many more.
