”Before you hire a personal trainer, ask for a certificate and do background checks, don’t be trained by a personal trainer who needs a personal trainer”…
Q. DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY AND WHAT YOU DO
A. My personality is anxious, self-conscious, artistic, thoughtful, quiet and private. I feel uncomfortable in social situations. I’m a professional and internationally certified fitness trainer. Level 2 and 3…so basically, work as a fitness and personal trainer. On the other hand, I’m a business man
Q. HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN A FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
A. No. I’m a journalist by profession. Started fitness when I moved abroad in 2014 and I’ve never looked back ever since
Q. WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING IF YOU WERE NOT A FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
A. I would be a soldier in France or U.K…I’m still looking forward to joining British Army once they resume commonwealth recruitment program. They stopped due to corona.

Q. TELL ME ABOUT ‘’FIT KENYANS’’
A. I’m the C.E.O of ”Fit Kenyans”. It’s the biggest fitness network in Kenya right now. It’s a platform to lift bodybuilding and fitness in Kenya. I want to make Kenyan bodybuilding big like other sports. This platform also unites fit Kenyans all over the world and educates fitness lovers. To get in touch, follow us on Instagram FIT KENYANS
”Being told I’m skinny, all body builders can relate. It can drive you into depression,” Hahaha ..” – This is not a complement.
Q. WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR CLIENTS,
A. Unfortunately, I don’t reveal the identity of my clients since I work with prominent people like British army in Kenya (BATUK), US marines based in Kenya, UN expatriates, Indians, politicians and musicians
Q. ANY TRAINING PHILISOPHY?
A. Go hard or go home.
Q. EXPLAIN THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DIET AND WORK OUT
A. Diet is the fuel aspect used during workout. We need energy during work outs the energy is from health foods. You cannot reach your fitness goals without working on your diet as well. Diet is 70% gym is 30%.
Q. LATEST FITNESS TRENDS THAT YOU FIND INTERESTING?
A. That has to be unqualified fitness trainers in Kenya. First of all, they mess up the business aspect of personal training by charging low. Minimum personal Training session should be KSH, 1,500 not less. Second, they have no idea what they are doing. Before you hire a personal trainer, ask for certificate and do background checks, don’t be trained by a personal trainer who needs a personal trainer.

Q. WORST FITNESS MISCONCEPTIONS
A. Most Kenyan gyms and trainers are so into aerobics. They believe it’s the key to weight loss. That’s just wrong, diet and strength training does it for me.
Q. ‘’I JUST WANT TO EAT WHATEVER I WANT, THEN WORK OUT ‘’, CAN I?
A. Yes and no. For ectomorph yes, for mesomorph and endomorph no. These are different human body types. Ectomorph has high metabolism so they can eat whatever and get away with it unlike the rest.
Q. TAKE ON KENYAN ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY
A. I don’t watch local television channels but I listen to Khaligraph Jones, Keyvo K Force and CMB Prezzo …they are doing a great job especially Khaligraph by putting Kenyan Hip-hop on the map.
Q. BIGGEST MOTIVATION TO STAY FIT AND KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO?
A. I always set goals. That makes me have something to work towards. I’m my own motivation always want to become better version of myself.
Q. INTERNATIONAL CELEBRITY CRUSH/WHY
A. None. You know when I was a kid, I used to have pictures of celebrities on my room wall. But then, when you travel to different countries and meet these people in real life, they become just regular people .so to me, no celebrity crush.
Q. BEST WAY TO GET YOUR ATTENTION
A. Depends on your approach, your personality and my mood at the moment.
Q. WHAT SOUNDS LIKE A COMPLIMENT BUT IT’S ACTUALLY AN INSULT
A. Being told I’m skinny, all bodybuilders can relate. It can drive you into depression. Hahaha
Q. NETFLIX AND CHILL OR CLUBBING
A. Netflix and chill, I only go to a club when I’m getting paid.

Q. DRUGS AND ALCOHOL?
A. Water and plenty of good food.
Q. SOMETHING YOU WOULD SAY IF YOU WON AN AWARD
A. Thank God and all the people who made it possible.
Q. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED FOR
A. Changing Kenyan fitness and body building industry. I want to make body building and fitness be recognized as a sport in Kenya like in the West.
