Shock in Embu as a headless infant is found in a field

The headless body of a newborn baby has been found dumped in a field in Gacuku Village, Meru County.

A woman who was harvesting beans stepped on a suspicious bag, then called the neighbors.

Residents are still in shock as such a wild thing has never happened before.

An investigation has been launched following the incident.

We have started the investigation of the incident and we are calling on the villagers to help us reveal the killer,

this is a serious issue and we will not rest until the criminal is identified and brought to justice,

head of police in East Embu Sub-county Mr. Emmanuel Okanda told a local newspaper.

This is not the first shocking incident to hit Meru residents this year. We reported on January 19th, 2023 , that an 18 year old girl in Meru County had been found dead, head chopped off.  Her half naked body was discovered in the thickets of Rwerea hills on January 13th this year, sparking mystery over what could have occurred.
