‘Shanty Town’: a cliché’ plot and too much violence

Shanty Town is a multi-lingual Nigerian thriller, drama that stars Ini Edo, Chidi Mokeme, Nancy Isime, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Peter Okoye and Richard Mofe-Damijo, among other cast members. 

Shanty Town is a story that revolves around three unusual prostitutes who unite to take down one of the biggest criminal rings in Lagos state. The prostitutes are also trying to get out of the local Kingpin’s debt.

Shanty Town was released on Netflix about a week ago. The cast has been applauded for putting in a professional artistic display.

Shanty Town however has a cliché script, too much violence and brutality consequently – making the audience lose track of the plot,

Shanty Town, unfortunately is a miss.

All that Shanti town does it to objectify women, there’s nothing exceptional about the story

The hype is mainly because of the star studded cast. The story is cliche. Actors delivered on their roles.
