Sasha, seen chatting with friends while taking puffs of the cigarette, completed her look with black flip-flops, leaving her long braids loose and showcasing a belly button ring.
She appeared to be makeup-free.
This incident brings to mind a past controversy involving her older sister, Malia Obama, who was photographed in 2016 with what was suspected to be a cannabis joint.
This event prompted discussions about the former president’s own history with smoking.
Barack Obama openly acknowledged his cannabis use during his youth and was part of a group humorously referred to as the “choom gang” during his time in Hawaii.
