Various women Accuse Russell Brand of Predatory Behavior and Sexual Assault.
I was Very Promiscuous but It Was Always Consensual”
RUSSELL BRAND
Renowned actor, comedian, and author Russell Brand is facing what he refers to as “very serious criminal allegations” stemming from his past.
Brand preemptively addressed these claims in a video shared on social media, Friday.
While he did not disclose the specific sources, he mentioned receiving communications from a “mainstream media TV company” and a “newspaper,” which contained what he described as “a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks.”

Over the weekend, prominent British outlets, The Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4’s “Dispatches,” jointly published an investigative report in which four women alleged sexual assault by Brand in separate incidents between 2006 and 2013.
One woman said that she was 16 years old and Brand was 31 at the time of the alleged assault in London. For privacy reasons, the women chose not to reveal their identities in the report.
Brand’s former literary agency, Tavistock Wood, previously listed as his representative, announced that they have severed all professional ties with him.
They stated that while Brand vehemently denied the allegation in 2020, they now believe they were misled.
At least two of the alleged incidents occurred in Los Angeles.
One woman sought treatment at a rape treatment center on the same day as the alleged assault.
Although the center contacted the police, the woman opted not to file a report, expressing doubt that her words would carry weight against Brand.

In his video statement, Brand acknowledged his past promiscuity, emphasizing that all his relationships during that time were consensual.
He questioned whether there might be ulterior motives behind the criminal allegations, considering his transparency about his past in his writings and public appearances.

Brand believes that these allegations are an attempt to exert control over his voice and influence.
He expressed willingness for discussions about his past conduct but vehemently denied the “very, very serious criminal allegations” that have been made against him.
One of the accusers, identified as Nadia, alleged that Brand raped her in his Los Angeles home against a wall in July 2012.
She ultimately chose not to pursue legal action.
Brand continues to maintain his innocence amidst these accusations.
