Amazon’s Prime Video is set to launch its first unscripted African Original, ‘LOL: Last One Laughing Naija’, on July 14th, with popular comedian Basketmouth as the host.

The announcement was made during a lively press conference held in Lagos.
The six-part series will feature a competition among comedians to see who can remain straight-faced and make others laugh.

Produced in collaboration with Nigeria’s LiveSpot360 Productions, the series will be available on Prime Video in over 240 countries.
‘LOL’ is part of Prime Video’s global comedy franchise, with a version hosted by Trevor Noah set to be launched in early 2023.

The Nigerian edition will showcase ten of the country’s top comedy stars, including Okey Bakassi, Buchi, and Taoma, competing in a celebrity showdown.
The show aims to deliver local and authentic African content to a global audience.
