At least 16 lives were lost on Thursday following an accident involving a bus carrying students from Pwani University and a matatu along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
Among the victims were seven students and three staff from the university, as well as passengers from the matatu.
President William Ruto has since extended his condolences to the Pwani University community in the wake of the tragic incident.

The bus, which was carrying around 30 people, including teachers and students, was en route to Eldoret for a sports event at the time of the accident.
