A homicide detective who spoke to the media revealed that a group of police officers from Kasarani Police Station, who were the first to respond to the incident involving interior designer Jeff Mwathi, tried to conclude the case and categorize it as a suicide.
According to reports, the investigation into the death of interior designer Jeff Mwathi had been carried out by two opposing factions. One group called for a thorough inquiry into the matter, while the other wanted the case to be ruled as suicide.
A source who wished to remain anonymous revealed that the original CCTV footage indicated that Mwathi had been pushed out of the window of DJ Fatxo’s house.

According to the detective, several videos that were circulated online had been manipulated to give the impression that Jeff Mwathi had committed suicide by jumping out of his own accord, whereas they were not authentic.

The police are planning to exhume Mwathi’s body as part of their investigation, as there were discrepancies in the inquiry.
Inspector General Japhet Koome announced that the request had come from Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin, who had identified significant inconsistencies during the inquiry.
Examining the body, according to Koome, will help provide a clearer perspective and determine the course of the investigation.
