Instagram users might soon have the ability to share Stories with distinct groups of people.
Adam Mosseri, the Head of Instagram, shared this update in a recent broadcast.
He explained that this feature would be similar to the app’s existing “Close Friends” option.
It will allow users to display specific stories to customized lists of multiple audiences.
Mosseri mentioned, “
This allows you to share stories to smaller groups and gives you more control over who can see your stories.”
As someone who uses Close Friends often, I’m pretty excited about being able to create additional lists for the people in my life.”
The example provided by the social media platform showcases lists like “Close Friends,” “SF Foodies,” “Siblings,” and “Travel Crew.”
This suggests that users will likely have the ability to name these lists themselves.
The wider release of this feature remains to be confirmed.
I feel that users will find value in this feature as it will offer a more personalized and controlled approach to sharing Stories.
By allowing specific content to be shown to customized lists, individuals will tailor their sharing to suit different groups of friends or acquaintances.
