MTV has announced the cancellation of its Europe Music Awards ceremony, originally set to take place in Paris.

The decision is attributed to the ongoing “devastating events” in Israel and Gaza.
The organizers released a statement explaining,
With thousands of lives already lost,
it is a moment of mourning,”
and expressed that this is not an appropriate time for a global celebration.
The event, which was to feature nominees like Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Bad Bunny, The Foo Fighters and more was initially slated for November 5th at Paris Nord Villepinte.
