Eight months ago, Showmax unveiled the cast for The Real Housewives of Nairobi (RHONairobi), and the reality show made its debut on Showmax on February 23, 2023.
Initially announced in September 2022, The Real Housewives of Nairobi chronicles the lives of five influential and accomplished women as they navigate their opulent lifestyles, relationships, and careers in Nairobi, Kenya.
Among the cast members, Minnie Kariuki was a prominent figure, alongside Vera Sidika, Susan Kaittany, Sonal Maherali, and interior designer Lisa Christoffersen.
Minnie Kariuki’s most controversial moments

One of the most buzzed-about episodes of The Real Housewives of Nairobi involved Minnie Kariuki’s strained friendship with Susan Kaittany.
The tension reached its peak during season 1 reunion.
Susan hinted at underlying issues, leading to an intense face-off.

Minnie retaliated by bringing up Susan’s past, specifically alluding to her botched breast surgery.
This led to a heated exchange of words.
Despite attempts at mediation from fellow housewives and host Fareed Khimani, both Minnie and Susan remained resolute in making their voices heard.
The confrontation reached a climax, with Susan leaving the stage in tears.

While Minnie’s presence on the show undoubtedly boosted its ratings and popularity,
there were instances where she seemed willing to exploit personal disputes for entertainment value, potentially at the expense of her fellow cast members.
A good example is her altercation with Marini Naturals CEO Michelle Ntalami.
In one episode of “The Real Housewives of Nairobi,” Minnie Kariuki had taken a subtle dig at Michelle Ntalami, during an event hosted by Susan Kaittany.

Minnie had remarked,
I don’t know her, we write cheques,
and she writes her Instagram posts,”
Minnie
This comment had gone viral after the episode aired.
In response, Michelle Ntalami accused Minnie of damaging her brand and had offered some words of advice.

Michelle had expressed her initial decision to remain silent but had then chosen to speak out against Minnie for insulting her, capitalizing on the drama, body-shaming other women online, and harming her brand.
Michelle stressed that she was setting boundaries and standing up for herself.
She said,
I kept silent, but lines were crossed.
Michelle
The back to back insults, aggrandizing the drama online,
profiting off it with merchandising,
going as far as taking the attacks to National TV and Radio,
coming for my bag and brand,
body shaming other women online,
hurling insults and profanity?
Not me. You cross my boundaries,
I remind you yours. ⚠️
Overall, it seemed there had been a public disagreement between Minnie and Michelle, sparked by Minnie’s remarks on the show.
In spite of the controversies, Minnie Kariuki continues to boast a substantial fan following on ‘The Real Housewives of Nairobi’.
Now, fast forward and Michelle has revisited the issue in a recent law suit.
