Michelle Ntalami, is joyfully celebrating a significant milestone in her life—one year of sobriety.
In an inspiring message shared on her social media, she expressed her excitement and gratitude for achieving this goal,
Today I celebrate ONE YEAR OF SOBRIETY!💧🥳 Imagine fam, one full year of zero alcohol!
And that includes champagne and the ever-defended ‘harmless glass of wine.’
I recall last year when I first shared that I was celebrating my 30-day milestone, some folks laughed and said 30 days is too short and soon I’ll be back at it.
Well here we are, a full year! 😌💅🏾,”
Ntalami’s decision to quit alcohol was not driven by addiction but by a desire to eliminate a habit she deemed unproductive.
She shared that she made this choice even before a significant spiritual encounter.
While I was never addicted, it doesn’t take one to be addicted to let go of a bad habit. If anything, that’s the best time to quit as you have more resolve to let go of it before you’re bound.
⛓️ So about 3 months before that, I completely stopped going to clubs and clearing/giving out my stash.
I began making some drastic positive changes in my life. The changes were hard but I was determined to cut out anything and anyone who was not good to and for me.”
Her message carried a powerful note of encouragement to those considering similar changes in their lives.
Noting that it doesn’t require adherence to a specific faith to overcome bad habits, situations, or people—it’s possible through one’s own volition.
This tells you that it does not take you to follow in a certain faith to quit bad habits, situations, or people. It is absolutely possible by your own volition.
This is my sincere encouragement to you who is thinking of letting go of anything. God gave us our own will-power to make and stick to the right choices in life. YOU CAN DO IT.”
Ntalami advised starting by eliminating negative influences, such as certain environments, people, music, or suppliers.
Over time, she explained, the desire to engage in the habit diminishes.
For those who are believers, she recommended praying for strength, sharing a verse from Nahum 1:13,
Now I will break their yoke of bondage from your neck and tear your shackles away.”
Reflecting on the benefits of her alcohol-free lifestyle, Ntalami noted improved skin, better sleep, and most importantly, reclaiming her Sundays for spiritual devotion.
Life alcohol-free since has been so beautiful! Aside from better skin and sleep, the best thing for me is I got my Sundays back and now they fully belong to The Lord! 🙏🏽♥️
Here’s to one year alcohol-free and a lifetime to go! 🥳,”
