Mark Zuckerberg, almost two years after rebranding his company Facebook to Meta, remains committed to building the metaverse, a three-dimensional virtual reality.
However, his focus has changed tremendously.

Initially, Mark emphasized the metaverse as an entirely digital realm.
Now, he seeks to persuade the public that the future lies in a fusion of the digital and physical.
He envisions a scenario where people gather physically with some friends while others join digitally as avatars or holograms, all feeling equally present.
Meetings could feature a mix of physical attendees, digital holograms, and AI entities embodied as holograms, working collaboratively.
Zuckerberg assures that in this blended reality, the physical surroundings remain visible.
This metaverse allows for interactive activities like solving puzzles or creating structures on any flat surface in the room, as well as playing games with friends seated around a table.
Pretty soon, I think we’re going to be at a point where you’re
META’S Mark
going to be there physically with some of your friends
and others will be there digitally as avatars or holograms
and they’ll feel just as present as everyone else.
Or you’ll walk into a meeting and sit down at a table.
There will be people who are there physically and people who
are there digitally as holograms,
but also sitting around the table with you are going
to be a bunch of AI guys who are embodied
as holograms and are helping you get
different stuff done too,”
