Interior CS Kithure Kindiki announced that the state has suspended all Worldcoin operations and any other entities engaged in similar activities targeting Kenyans.
The government expressed concern over the activities of an organization named ‘Worldcoin,’ which was involved in registering citizens through the collection of iris data.

The registration exercise for Worldcoin, initially taking place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, was halted due to security concerns.
Relevant security, financial services, and protection agencies have initiated inquiries and investigations to verify the authenticity and legality of these activities.
CS Kindiki emphasized the need to ensure public safety, especially regarding the integrity of financial transactions involving a large number of citizens.
Investigations are ongoing to ensure the safety and proper use of the harvested data.
Furthermore, the government issued a warning to any individual or entity intending to engage in similar activities.
Earlier reports had indicated that the registration and activities at KICC have been stopped, and plans are underway to relocate the event to a larger venue.
