A hacker has demanded a ransom of $500 (equivalent to Ksh68,250) in exchange for returning the hacked official Facebook page of Kabarak University.
The hacker, claiming to be an IT student from Jakarta, Indonesia, stated that the amount was affordable for the university and provided them with an option to regain control of the page by paying the ransom.

Over the past three days, the hacker has been posting memes on the compromised page.
In one of the posts, the hacker challenged the university to recover the page and clarified that their actions were meant for amusement rather than causing harm.
As of the time of writing, the university had not yet reclaimed the hacked Facebook page, which has a following of 41,000 users.
Here are some of the posts on the hacked page
I sell it to anyone who wants this page, it doesn’t matter who it is
higher bid can get this page
I also have another option, you guys just give me 500$ , and I’ll bring this page back, the offer is cheap for a big university
I will not return this account, but I challenge all of you to reclaim this account immediately
