Little was known about South African track ‘Bayethe’, untill the early hours of Monday morning when it bagged a Grammy Award.
South African trio Nomcebo Zikode (well known for the Covid Era hit Jerusalema), Zakes Bantwini, and Wouter Kellerman scored the win over Nigeria’s Burna Boy, Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo, USA’s Matt B, Ghana’s Rocky Dawuni, and Pakistan’s Arooj Aftab in the Best Global Music Performance category at the Grammy Awards.

This is the first time Nomcebo Zikode and Zakes Bantwini have won a Grammy. Kellerman won the award in 2015 for his album Winds of Samsara.
‘Bayethe’ , a colorful African themed song was released back in 2022. So far the song has garnered around 227 000 clicks on YouTube. After the win, it was evident that many went to listen to the song.
I didn’t know this single until today, as it is nominated for Grammy Awards. South Africa Unite 👏 👊

South Africa doesn’t matter what culture,race..etc this is a very good example if we can all be one good things like this can happen more. Now it’s time for us to hold each other and show the world what we are good at
