Google has launched its new AI chatbot called Bard, but currently, it is only available to select users who are over the age of 18.
Unlike ChatGPT, Bard has a “Google it” button that allows users to access up-to-date information from the internet, and it references sources for facts such as Wikipedia.
Google has warned users that Bard has limitations and may share misinformation or exhibit bias since it learns from existing real-world information, which may contain stereotypes and false information.
While ChatGPT quickly gained over one million users after its launch in November 2022, Google has been more cautious with Bard, which is currently only available in the US and UK to registered users.
Microsoft has invested billions in generative AI and recently incorporated ChatGPT into its search engine Bing, with plans to integrate it into its office apps like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
