There seems to be an increasing trend of photographers falling victim to swindlers in Nairobi.
These clients, who typically book in-house photo shoots, are known for drugging and stealing from photographers.
One Nairobi-based photographer, June July as she is popularly known, has shared her experience and advised fellow professionals to be cautious of accepting any food or beverages offered by clients during in-house shoots.
June, who is also a businesswoman, hopes to raise awareness about this issue and prevent others from falling victim to these scams. She lost equipment worth over KSH 350 000 to swindlers, posing as clients.
June, who was clearly emotional, shared the complete story of her experience with Citizen Digital. She had previously only shared a portion of the story on her Instagram page in January.
