DJ Brownskin, also known as Michael Macharia Njiri, appeared before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina at Milimani Law Court on Monday, June 12, 2023.
During the court session, DJ Brownskin faced three charges, including aiding suicide by counseling his wife Sharon Njeri to consume poison, neglecting to prevent a felony, and tampering with evidence.
The alleged incidents occurred on July 29, 2022, in Kariobangi South, Buruburu Sub County.

Investigations conducted by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed that DJ Brownskin had sent a video of his late wife allegedly ingesting a poisonous substance to his girlfriend who resided abroad.
Prior to his arrest on June 1, 2023, DJ Brownskin had repeatedly ignored police summons related to the mysterious death of his wife Sarah Njeri.
The DCI stated that the suspect shared the video with his girlfriend abroad, who subsequently made the information public through a blogger.
Despite efforts to contact DJ Brownskin for further clarification on the incident, he evaded authorities, prompting a manhunt that led to his arrest on the early hours of Madaraka Day.
Detectives confirmed that DJ Brownskin would be charged with the offenses of aiding suicide and failing to prevent it, as stipulated under Section 225 (C) of the Penal Code.
