Derrick Rose has retired from the NBA after 16 seasons with six teams.
The 35-year-old point guard, waived by the Memphis Grizzlies for the 2024-25 season, struggled with injuries in recent years.
Rose, drafted first overall by the Chicago Bulls in 2008, became the youngest MVP in league history at 22.
He later played for New York, Detroit, Minnesota, Cleveland, and Memphis.
On Instagram, Rose expressed gratitude to basketball, calling it his “sanctuary” and a source of love and stability.
