The Court yesterday ordered a fresh investigation into the case of Jeff Mwathi’s death to ensure accurate and reliable information is shared regarding the circumstances leading to his passing.
Magistrate Zainab Abdul has set the commencement date for the inquest on August 10, 2023.

Jeff Mwathi who was an interior designer, was captured on CCTV footage on Feb 22nd falling from the 10th-floor apartment window of the house belonging to DJ Fatxo.
As per reports, Mwathi had spent the previous night partying with the well-known Mugithi singer, along with his cousin and driver, and had subsequently stayed at DJ Faxto’s residence.
With the inquest, the public’s quest for answers will be addressed by shedding light on the events of that fateful day when 23 year old Jeff Mwathi lost his life.
A total of 35 witnesses will be summoned to provide their testimonies, helping to facilitate the investigation process.
Jeff Mwathi’s mother who was present in court expressed her unwavering determination to seek justice. The loss of Jeff has brought unrest to their family and friends, and she hopes that the truth will prevail, she told media outlets.
While DJ Fatxo and others had previously been declared not guilty by the DCI following a thorough investigation, Jeff Mwathi’s parents and the public eagerly await the ruling on August 10, which will determine the outcome of the ongoing saga surrounding Jeff Mwathi’s untimely death.
