A businessman, Imran Ismail Singh, was shot and killed in his bedroom in Nairobi’s South C area early on Saturday morning.
The motive for the shooting is unknown, and questions have been raised about how the perpetrator gained access to the victim’s bedroom.
Ismail, who was an accountant at a Nairobi-based firm, was found dead by his family with gunshot wounds to his head.
Police recovered one bullet head and a spent cartridge from the room.
Ismail’s mother and two siblings heard gunshots and found that the assassin had escaped.
Police suspect that the perpetrator entered the room through the balcony, which was left open.
Detectives from the DCI are investigating the murder and collecting evidence.
One theory they are pursuing is that there may have been a family feud over property. The body of the deceased has been moved to a mortuary in Nairobi for autopsy examination.
