Nigerian superstar Burna Boy continues to make waves in the music industry as he secures yet another victory at the BET Awards.

The annual ceremony, held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, saw Burna Boy take home the coveted Best International Act award.

Although absent from the event, Burna Boy’s presence was strongly felt as his name was announced as the winner of this prestigious category.

This marks his third win in the same category, following his previous victories in 2019 and 2021.

Burna Boy’s album ‘Love, Damini,’ released in 2022, garnered worldwide acclaim and further solidified his status as a global music sensation.

In a highly competitive field, Burna Boy triumphed over notable artists such as Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Stormzy, Tiakola, and Uncle Waffles.

Another standout artist of the night was Cameroonian-American singer Libianca, who clinched the Viewers Choice: Best New International Act award.

Known for her hit song ‘People,’ Libianca emerged victorious among a talented pool of nominees, including Asake from Nigeria, Camidoh from Ghana, Flo from the UK, Maureen from France, Pabi Cooper from South Africa, and others.

The BET Awards 2023 also paid homage to hip-hop’s 50th anniversary and featured a special tribute performance dedicated to the late Tina Turner.

The event showcased the industry’s finest talents and celebrated the significant contributions of artists from diverse backgrounds.
