Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, faced disappointment as he lost all seven of his nominations at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards.
Held at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center on October 3, the results were broadcast on October 10.

Despite being nominated for categories including Hip Hop Artist of the Year and Best Live Performer of the Year, Burna Boy was bested by American rapper Kendrick Lamar.
Moreover, he missed out on awards such as Lyricist of the Year, Hustler of the Year, and Best Collaboration of the Year.
Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar emerged as the night’s standout winner, securing four prestigious prizes.
Ghanaian music sensation Black Sherif also celebrated a victory in the Best International Flow category, surpassing competitors from South Africa, France, the UK, and more.
