Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy has canceled his live concert in South Africa, citing the promoters‘ failure to meet contractual obligations.

The concert, originally scheduled for September 23, Saturday at Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium, faced postponement due to a reported lack of ticket sales.
Burna Boy’s management company, Spaceship Management, countered by stating that the promoters, Ternary Media Group, failed to fulfill financial, production, and technical obligations.

Despite Phase 1 ticket sales reaching capacity, the event at the 90,000-capacity stadium had to be cancelled.
Burna Boy recently sold out London Stadium and Citi Field in Queens, NY.
This is not Burna Boy’s first time in South Africa.
Burna Boy has not consistently enjoyed a positive relationship with South Africans.
In 2019, Burna Boy and the late South African rapper AKA found themselves in a conflict. AKA insisted that Burna Boy should apologize for his threat to engage in a physical altercation.
