A few days ago Brandy Maina declared that she will only do collabos with 5 artists this year, adding that she does not want to be involved with any interviews either.

Unless it’s Nyash, Kinoti, Watendawili, Femi or Fathermoh, I’m not doing any more collaborations this year. Leave me out of interviews as well. ♡
Brandy Maina
There was a lot of criticism directed towards her decision, with some people labeling her as proud or arrogant. Nevertheless, there were those who believed that she had the right to make her own choices regarding her music career, given that she is the one who has gone through her unique journey.
Not Kenyans asking you who are you like they haven’t been dancing to your songs back to back since 2020. Stay winning ✨✨

But , no one knew who you are until you trend, 🤦

Believe in your sauce. Also I’ve seen Brandy Maina perform live. She can sing and dance and not miss a beat and note. She is the girl she thinks she is.
@galinthevillage
I love Brandy but I don’t think she’s big enough as a artist to not want to do collabs and interviews. But her solo projects are great ! Hope she gets her breakthrough soon.

Brandy has now hailed Comedienne Elsa Majimbo for ‘leaving behind Kenyan toxicity’. Brandy now hopes that one day she will get a chance to relocate elsewhere, just like Elsa.
This country doesn’t deserve creatives. I pray we all leave this toxicity.
So happy for Majimbo damn. God, please open my doors, this can’t be my home forever. It be your own that kill you,”

Last year, Elsa Majimbo spoke to Forbes about the ‘complicated relationship she has with Nairobi‘ , she said –

I have a very complicated relationship with Nairobi, and there was a lot of… when things started going well for me there was a lot of backlash on me and just a lot of colorist things were said to me and surprisingly it was people from Kenya.
They were hell-bent on my failure and it was so insane… the rest of the world was cheering me on, Kenya was praying for my downfall. So when I got the chance I packed my bags and I left and I never looked back. And I’m never going back,”
Elsa Majimbo
Elsa said this during the Forbes global top creators list interview, Forbes had then released its First-Ever Top Creators global List. The list ranked the Most Influential Social Content Creators in the world and Comedian Elsa Majimbo, made it to the list.
