Kenyan musician Boutross Munene has accused Prince Otach, CEO of Kenyans in the United Kingdom, of scamming him financially.
In a social media rant, Boutross claimed that after performing at the Kenya Diaspora Festival organized by Prince Otach, he faced difficulties in receiving his payment.
He alleged that Prince Otach failed to fulfill contractual obligations, provided a different hotel than agreed upon, and did not cater to their needs as promised.
Boutross also mentioned that Prince Otach demanded payment from a Scottish lounge where Boutross performed without informing him or his team.
Boutross called out the behavior of such promoters and emphasized the need for artists to protect their brands and image.
He expressed his desire for Kenyan artists to perform in stadiums rather than halls and called for a change in the treatment of artists by promoters.
We are just getting started. It is good to have your own money because we were fucked period.
I was to have a car for transportation with a personal photographer and videographer, he gassed us up when he told us he would organize media interviews for us but we ended up pulling our own connects.
As usual, we did everything he was supposed to do by ourselves, at our own expense. I’m sure he was just talking big and he did not know anyone there.
