LinkedIn, the global professional network platform, has introduced a new feature called “I’m interested” to simplify the job search process for individuals and make it easier for recruiters to find potential candidates.
The updated button function allows users to express their interest in a company that is actively hiring.
By clicking the “I’m interested” icon on a company’s page, a user’s profile and information are shared with the company’s recruiters for future consideration, even without applying for a specific job posting.

To access this feature, users need to follow these steps:
- Log into the LinkedIn app.
- Enter the name of the company of interest in the search bar.
- Click on the “view page” option for the searched company.
- Within the “About” section of the company’s page, click on the “I’m interested” icon.
- Once clicked, recruiters within the company can review the user’s profile while searching for qualified candidates.
Recruiters within the organization may exchange shared profiles to identify suitable candidates.
However, other recruiters outside the company will not have access to the disclosed interests, ensuring user privacy.
According to LinkedIn, the stated interest will not be visible to recruiters after a year.
Users also have the option to manage their shared interests and withdraw their declaration of interest by clicking on their profile photo icon, accessing the settings, selecting “data privacy,” and then proceeding to “manage your data and activity.” From there, users can delete the expressed interest in future roles at a specific company.
LinkedIn is committed to safeguarding user data and privacy.
In addition to the “I’m interested” feature, the platform allows users to control the amount of profile information accessible to others, create a unique public profile URL, and prevent offensive content.
