Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez, signed to 100 Crowns – an imprint of Chocolate City, has released visuals for ‘Back in Uni’ , a single off his upcoming album ‘Young Preacher’ , which is set for release on Oct 22nd. Blaqbonez is known for blending Pidgin English and English in his music.
Unrelated to the lyrics, the visuals of the catchy tune are a humorous tribute to music videos and pop culture references currently trending in Nigeria, which mimics, mocks artists like Asake, Rema, Ruger, Burna Boy & Wizkid.
He performs Ruger’s viral moves and his Pirate eye-patch & pink hair spots, Burna Boy’s high waist trouser, Asake’s silver Grillz, we get to see him play Ayra Starr in blonde hair and other acts.

Blaqbonez gives the impression that he is only working on his craft & has no ill motive for creating the video, which some think is very creative.
Years later, I hope the newer generations understand how creative this video is. One of the best music video I’ve seen this year so far.
